Antes de qualquer instalação do sistema fotovoltaico é preciso fazer uma análise completa do local em que ele será instalado. É verificado se o telhado ou estrutura de suporte é capaz de receber o peso dos painéis solares, se há sombreamento que possa prejudicar a geração de energia e se a inclinação do telhado é adequada para captar a luz do sol.
Além disso, é importante verificar se a instalação elétrica do local está em boas condições e se está de acordo com as normas vigentes.
